Q&A with site creator Thomas (LunarGuy).

It’s sunrise on Tuesday, as I sip my coffee on the back patio of the home I share with my PLP (Platonic Life Partner), Monty, in our wonderful South Florida neighborhood. The pool calmly flows next to me and life begins to stir. I thought I’d take a few moments to introduce myself and enlighten you on who I am, and why this site exists

1. How did FlipSide13.com.com come about?

It started after my therapist suggested I start a book club to become more social. Being on lockdown in 2020 has caused antisocial feelings along with feelings of abandonment and seclusion. I started playing around with book club names and searching for something that I would not only be proud of, but that would make people smile when they mentioned it. Thus, “A Very Gay Book Club” was born. Little did I know, once it was in front of me, that little book club idea would take off running with possibility. Before I knew it, I was creating a whole website.

2. Why did I name it FlipSide13.com?

I had a different name in mind, but it’s not yet available. As far as FlipSilde13 goes, I wanted something that would give me creative control and broad latitude for the overflowing, overlapping ideas that I have. Since I began this journey, it’s like I turned on the creative juices and it’s been a nonstop flow since!

3. What do you want people to take away from their visit?

I hope people come for the book club and stay a while for the other content. The site is like a child to me. It is growing daily, and I have no expectations of what it will become. I hope it becomes a place people like to check out while they have their coffee in the morning, a little escape from the reality around them; a place for them to take a moment and free up their minds. Do a little reading, get some inspiration, and relax.
